Beware: The News Doesn't Want You to Know and is Super Slow to Tell You

Ah Ha !!!  This is the hard truth about the media.  They keep important matters under wraps until it is too late.  Then the media acts as if it is doing you a favor by reporting on it.....years... decades too late.

This is media-malpractice.  Or you can just call it plain old deception.

What I am about to discuss here on my blog today is nothing new.  For me, it is old news.  But for most of America, the people are in shock!!

Allow me to give you my take on Matt Walsh's recent video:

(By the way, let's see how long it stays up on YouTube.)

Just a reminder here: If you wonder why I go on on these tangents, not related to chiropractic, that's because they are not tangents.  They are important.  They are very much important to me as a chiropractor because chiropractic is about how the brain is perceiving your environment.  If your brain's perception is not what you like, you need to change it.  We use chiropractic to set the stage for new learning, new experiences, and efficient healing/rebuilding.

Here we go.  Matt Walsh relives the Tom Cruise/Matt Lauer confrontation about psychiatric medications in a Today show interview from 2005.  Mr. Walsh commends Tom Cruise for being "right on the money," that there is no such thing as a chemical imbalance and that no one has really tested people for proof before putting them on a psychiatric drug.

The conversation played on Matt Walsh's video centered around Adderall and Ritalin.  What wasn't included was Tom Cruise's criticism of Brooke Shields' use of medication for postpartum depression.

Tom Cruise mentions psychiatric abuse, the history of psychiatry, and the drugging of children.  He adds that there is no such thing as a chemical imbalance and he has gone far back in the research to understand how the faulty theory took on a life of its own.

So, Molecular Psychiatry published an umbrella study last week showing there is no evidence that low serotonin is correlated with depression.  Please take note, this study was a collaboration of scientists from the U.K., Switzerland, and Italy.  Would this have happened in the U.S.?  I highly doubt it.

On a side note highlighting the bias in American research, the researchers who published findings that popular drugs caused mitochondrial damage revealed it was very difficult getting published because it was an ugly truth about prescription medications.  Academic freedom and peer review are jokes.  (I'm not laughing.)

There is a strong, rich pharmaceutical lobby.    You understand which groups pay for TV advertising.  Remember that.

I recently read an article discussing the questionable ideas about inflammation.  Inflammation may NOT be the enemy or the cause of diseases, such as atherosclerosis. The author had surprising findings that led to a  backlash.  Publishers don't want to upset the apple cart when old ideas are shown to be wrong.  Doctors are in a panic if their entire career is based on faulty information.

Many have questioned the biological theory of mental illness for a long time. I was one of them. For example, Linus Pauling  was one who had strong opinions, and experiences with Orthomoleculuar Psychiatry. Peter Breggin also knew drugs were not the answer.  I wrote about him in my Doctors Who Jumped Ship Series.

This news story about the debunked  serotonin theory can no longer be hidden, thanks to Molecular Psychiatry.  The news has to report on it, finally. In addition, I will mention, Molecular Psychiatry is the same journal that highlighted subluxation based chiropractic (a brain specific niche in chiropractic) as a very successful approach to addiction treatment, with longer lasting results (2001). We have so many safe treatments that are the opposite of the brain damaging poisoning of psychiatric drugs.

My master's degree was not about drugging.  I was learning how to introduce people to new ways of thinking, helping them work through their problems so they could be self empowered.  My goal was to help people grow from their challenges.  (Not numb them from their challenges.)

That's why I first studied to become a teacher at SUNY Cortland. My passion was short lived because of a compelling talk in my creative discipline class taught by Dr. Thomas Lickona.  That one day, it was brought to our attention that Japan had a very high rate of student suicides.

This reminded me of our neighbor to the south, Cornell University.  The gorges and bridges have been sites of many suicides. Although, Cornell does not have a higher rate of suicides among colleges, it's still a sobering thought.  During my freshmen year at Ithaca college, one week before Thanksgiving break, a student jumped to his death from the 13th floor of the East Tower. That may have had an impact on me.

So, during my fourth year of college discussing suicide rates for Japanese students, I was wondering if I really wanted to be part of any kind of high pressure educational system.  I knew then I was going to eventually become a counselor.

The emphasis on medication for mental illness threw me for a loop.  In my position as a therapist, I quickly learned the ins and outs of psychotropic medication.

When I first heard of the biological theory of mental illness, I was confused. I didn't learn it in my master's program and it was just a given in the psychiatric world.  I wondered how it was known that someone had an imbalance of brain chemicals?  I wondered if people really had chemical imbalances in their brains, shouldn't they be dead?  I mean, it's a legit question worth asking.  No one talked about measuring these chemicals.  Would you have to cut open the brain?  But if you had 5 out of 10 symptoms, according to the DSM, (a big fat book that makes you look really smart) congratulations!  You are depressed.  Now take these toxic substances....forever!

It became depressing to me.   People got worse.  They did not get better.  They were called non-compliant if they complained about side effects or quit taking them. Family members belittled them.  It was not a pleasant environment sometimes.  And when professionals are fed up with someone's darkness, ship them off to the hospital so you can have a break.  It's not a break for the patient. It is a nightmare.

I ran a support group for people labeled "bi-polar."  They were devastated that they could no longer cry.  This was a medication side effect. They became robots. Many were severely preoccupied with suicide feeling as if it was their only way out. Their lives were miserable. But I had strong empathy and my eyes were wide open to the over emphasis on drugs stripping away people's self respect and independence.

And, the mind-body connection was ignored.  When patients fell through the cracks because they talked about physical pain, they were sent off to internal medicine.  When their tests were normal, they were told it was all in their heads.  Bounced around with no one taking a real interest in their misery.

I decided I couldn't participate in a system that I would never send my family members to. Black box warnings weren't a thing until 2004, but I saw the writing on the wall.  SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors) were bad news. I knew this back in 1995.  And it took so many decades for the institutions to admit it was a fraud.

I left my job to go to chiropractic college.  I learned on my own that chiropractic had a successful history helping people with mental challenges.  Chiropractic hospitals were a huge success until they faded away, thanks to the drug monopoly.

It's also disappointing how my chiropractic forefathers in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s  have whittled chiropractic down to a back pain specialty.  Nothing special about that.  They abandoned the successful chiropractic hospitals. They gutted the real approach to whole body health just to feel accepted in the sandbox rather than stand up for health freedom OR TRUTH.

The interesting follow up on the Tom Cruise sound bytes is he is being criticized for being a scientologist.  For some reason his opinion should be barred from public discourse. Yet, he is certainly allowed to do his own research and come up with a conclusion.

I am a chiropractor, and the same goes for me.  How can I be so critical of a health care program?  Because I look at what doesn't make the news.  I look at the information that's placed on the back shelf. I dig for the buried stories that aren't popular.

Many medical frauds could no longer be hidden away.  Illegal research such as Tuskegee eventually was revealed. The deception of Thalidomide couldn't be hidden.  A Chocrane Review published this year (2022) shows 94% of established interventions are not evidence based.  Are you following the crowd just because it's the thing to do?

Let's look over the timeline of voices trying to get the truth out:

Linus Pauling - 1960s

Peter Breggin - 1970s to the present

Tom Cruise - He happened to have an opportunity on a talk show in 2005, yet he is told to stay in his lane.  But this is everybody's lane.

I don't want to be told there is only one option for my health.  You don't want your loved ones suffering because of misleading information.

Matt Walsh touches on subjects that get people emotionally riled up.  I get especially riled up over deceptive medical practices that are obviously dangerous. Poison is not progress. It never will be.

Do you want to build your health in a way that is logical? Are you interested in working with your body, not against it?  Yes, this requires you to redefine health, and redefine treatment approaches.  I redefine what pain and sickness really means, so you are not at a loss and full of fear.  You already have the tools.  You just need to learn how to use them.

I teach that.  I teach you to ask the unpopular questions and not shrink away from unpopular answers.

Chiropractic is a teaching method.  I teach you to make different choices.  I teach your spine to help your brain perceive the environment properly.

Brain First is Body Freedom.

Coming up: "Bone on Bone." Why it is irresponsible to ever say it.

All of a Sudden Nutritional Supplements Matter (Mini-Rant)

Ok, mini rant here ----

Stop scrambling to find out the Zn, Magnesium, Vit C, Vit. D. etc., combo to get over the current pandemonium over a so called novel illness.

Yes, by all means, get the nutrition you need. But....this is something you need everyday of your life, not just when the world is freaking out over an out-of-control media.

Now-Rant over.

Also, check out my YouTube Commentary:

It's time to admit that mainstream medicine, or the medical industrial complex (whatever name suits you), has been leading us down the road of poor health for generations.

For most of my grandmother's life when I knew her, she was over-medicated for problems associated with life style and terrible dietary advice from the "Public Servants."  Every once in a while the media talked about the elderly being on too many medications.  Here we are, it's been 34 years since my Grandma died and we are worse.

I don't even want to quote the CDC's numbers.  A majority of people are on over 5 drugs at at time.  There's no plan to get better, folks.  Doctors can't win the battle over our poisoned air, water, and food.  Also doctors can't win in the food addiction department.  They just medicate you so you can tolerate your terrible life style habits. Personally I can't imagine tolerating life like that.  Medications just put you on a slow, miserable decline.

Go to Google and type in "medication induced mitochondrial damage."

Food Maturity Mini-Course Now Available

Hi folks.  I just uploaded 2 of the 3 videos of my latest mini-course: Food Maturity.

If you're done eating as if you are still in your 20s, this video is for you.

I remember those days.  I ate anything I wanted.  I wasn't bloated and logy back then.  But looking back I had a horrible time moving my joints.  It took me a while to get up from my chair.  I had to pry myself out of bed.  Even talk myself into getting out of bed.  And I thought it was normal because I must have felt that way most of my teenage years and early twenties!!

It was after I became a vegetarian that I realized I was no longer a mess.  It was a good start, but I've matured even more and will talk about the Ketolox Phasing program I designed to help people wade through the keto confusion.

The CDC has depressing stats about our health:

60% of Americans have a chronic condition

40% have more than one chronic condition

50% of us take one prescription

24% take 3 or more drugs

13% take five or more prescriptions

And the saddest statistic shown by Dr. Joseph Kraft: 90% of teenagers are already ill by the age of 19, yet it goes unnoticed.

I'd like to show you how to change the simplest markers of inflammation such as your blood pressure, blood sugar, triglycerides, Vit D levels and waist measurement.

Also, following a keto diet will help you manage the five annoying signs of brain impairment.

So, I'm not a famous guru and I don't have my own personal chef, but I live in the real world just like you.  We can do this!!!!

The Food Maturity Video Course is available on my Patreon Channel.

Doctors Who Jumped Ship: Robert Cywes (Part 11)

A medical genocide.  This is his descriptor and I agree 100%

Improperly used testing in order to sell more drugs.  They serve no other purpose than to ignore the real cause of the problem.  If you don't understand the metabolic functions of your cells and organs, you may be duped into taking medications that make your health worse.

Who else made the list?  Check here.

"We've been conned again," says Dr. Cywes.  He has jumped ship ship because he realized his own food addiction was not addressed going the usual medical route.

Dr. Cywes is a bariatric surgeon who has gone the education route in order to help people avoid surgery.  In fact, he says bariatric surgery only a success for one to three years.

A lot of patients look to weight loss surgeries to help control diabetes.  This gives them a head start and a feeling of progress which may be necessary for someone depending on his or her situation. But he says the surgery does not lead to behavioral change unless the sugar addiction is addressed.

He'd like to see the processed food/starch/sugar addiction addressed first.  And that was him at one time.

In the video above, he tackles the misinformation people hear about certain lab tests that measure fatty acids in the blood.  And he's not happy with the drug companies that push a chemical solution for a life style problem.  He even explains that the numbers may improve on your follow up blood work, but the potential for heart attack has not changed.

He feels lasting change comes from your own decisions and not what's on the shelf at the pharmacy.

Let him tell you his story.

I Hate Fear and Lies - So I Became a Chiropractor to Deliver Confidence and Truth

My calling is to help you live your calling.
When we are motivated to take on a personal mission, it's typically not simple.  Sure, when I wanted to be a school teacher I was positively impacted by a stern teacher and it took me by surprise.

I dreaded the end of summer when everyone else found out they had the favorite teachers but not me.  My teacher had a reputation as being mean.  Naturally, I was petrified but somehow told myself to just deal with it.  This was fourth grade.

In the end, my memory of that school year was pleasant.  While I gave her a run for her money because one of my friends (Yes, someone else ended up in her classroom, too.) and I were endless troublemakers sending notes back and forth, I witnessed to her organization and no nonsense style. I wasn't forgotten.

I went to college with dreams of a theatrical career, but I later graduated with a degree in teaching.  The lasting impression of this teacher stuck with me and I realized I wanted to somehow give others this kind of impression.  She didn't lecture us on how to live.  What fourth grader would listen to that kind of lecture? There was no relevancy.  We merely watched how she carried herself and managed her classroom.  Her example was powerful.

Also, I remember watching the Tony Robbins documentary, I Am Not Your Guru.  He mentioned at the end of the interview that a teacher made a small, but caring comment to Tony one day.  The personal interaction provided a springboard energy for him as it prompted him to take on some new action that enriched his life.  You'll have to watch the documentary yourself.  This revelation comes near the end.

What stood out for me was that his teacher wasn't reinforcing the subject matter, whatever course or syllabus he taught.  The teacher provided guidance in a very useful, relevant way.  We don't look back and say, "Wow, that lesson on photosynthesis was life changing."  We remember for the rest of our lives how one brief moment, a quick comment, or a kind gesture motivated us to do something a little bit better.

I was a teacher for only one year.  Along the way I took a different path, but with the same intention.  We can change the world one impactful moment at a time.  Some of us do it as teachers.  Others may do it as fire fighters, EMTs, artists, retail managers, marketers, coaches, parents, authors, and more.  We each have our opportunities to determine our purpose and choose how to serve our communities.

While my teacher taught me how to use structure in a disciplinary manner, I applied that experience in everything else I did.

Another person who was very influential in my life was my grandmother.  Spending time at Grandma's was always a delight.  She raised two boys, so she enjoyed all her granddaughters.  She taught me how to sew and cook.

When I watched her decline in her later years, I also learned that it was a long, slow decline where we were helpless.  The best I could do was help care for her daily needs and love her.  She was discouraged by her failing abilities which morphed into a fearful anxiety. I decided I did not want to have that experience in my own life.

In tenth grade my grandma moved in with us after suffering a stroke. A lasting impression was made when my dad asked  me to organize all her pills.  With paper, pencil, and a ruler, (no computers back then) I made up a grid with a schedule for each medication.  Some were first thing in the morning, others were after meals, before bed, once a day, twice a day and more often.  We wanted to keep track of her medicine and anyone who was home could mark off when she was given a dose.  She was taking a drug nearly every hour she was awake.  Now tell me, who wants to ever do that?  Not me!  This is just what every optimistic teenager wants to look forward to in the later decades of life.

This was a huge lesson for me.  Especially when she never got better, I knew this was more than the elephant in the room.  This was a secret misery no one wanted to talk about.

Fast forward to my time as a mental health therapist working with the chronically mentally ill.  Mind you, these jobs were easy to come by because this is the ignored part of society no one really cares about.  It's a sad fact that also alerted me to the problems with the current biomedical model of mental illness.

People were not getting better and they were not expected to get better. Please refer to my blog post about Peter Breggin here, regarding his work at reforming psychiatry.

People get tired of listening to the mentally ill.  This is a strain on  the system the leads many to job burnout.  Many people with chronic depression, bipolar disorder, etc., have physical disorders, as well. Unfortunately, their psychiatrists refer them to physicians.  The merry-go-round comes right back when the clients would return to tell us that nothing abnormal was found in their blood work so it was all in their heads.  They were falling through the cracks.  This was demoralizing for me.

Enter chiropractic.  I knew there was a body/mind connection, but I wasn't very influential within the mental health system. I had small successes working individually with people on simple natural approaches that I taught myself, but I needed to delve into it more.  I knew a lot about the mind.  I wanted to learn about the body.

So, I volunteered at a chiropractic office. When I discovered how the spine was the major communication link between the brain and the body I couldn't believe this information was never revealed to me in my master's program.  When I found out about the Winsor Autopsies demonstrating this in a medical journal published in 1921 I thought it was terribly detrimental that the public didn't know this so many decades later.  (Read here how Dr. Winsor changed my life.)

I also learned how successful chiropractic was for mental health issues back in the 1920s to 1950s.  There were chiropractic hospitals that used chiropractic and nutrition to give people back their independence. Where are these successful hospitals?  They were ignored by third party payers and were not given licenses to function as hospitals.

Chiropractic is also a promising partner in addiction recovery so I knew there was so much potential in receiving a chiropractic education.

Not only that, I also get adjusted every week as a routine.  I have been since 1995.  I only wish my parents knew that we all could have been adjusted since birth.  Click here to read what my first adjustment was like.

For me chiropractic is the missing link in healing.  My grandmother didn't have to live in fear.  No one has to hear the lie that there is nothing else left to try.

Over the years I've dealt with the same old talk that people can't get well no matter what they try.  I see the learned helplessness.  To me this is shameful.

It is because of fears and lies that I became a chiropractor, but more importantly I see the potential healing in people when they step out of their old comfort zone and take on the healthy practices they can learn about.

The potential is there. The success is waiting to happen.  The chiropractic philosophy may be something new to you, so let it sink in to your brain.    Want to join me?

We can change the world
one impactful moment at a time.

My impactful moment is
the chiropractic adjustment.

The Addiction Business Model

Call to Action: While we look at exercise, physical therapy, sleep, prescriptions, even surgery to free ourselves from pain, anxiety, and chronic degeneration, stop ignoring the first door way to this personal destruction:  Our food!

Go to YouTube and watch any interview with Joan Ifland.  She is amazing.  She has some nice kindle ebooks for sale at 99 cents and up to $2.99.

I am listening to an interview here where Dr. Ifland said the term: "The Addiction Model."  It took about 20 years for food companies to really ramp up this model to get everyone hooked on processed food.

First there was sugar, then high fructose corn syrup burning out the brain with addictions to these refined ingredients (I can't even call them food.)

How do we activate those famous opiate pathways?  We consume sugars, salts, caffeine, and food additives.  You don't even need to take an actual opiate.  Who really belongs in prison?

Fruits and starches are now problematic because we have programmed our brains since birth, probably in utero.

We don't eat food anymore.  We use food.  Just like a drug.  We use food to get an emotional high, emotional rush.  Admit it.  (It's not a calculated decision because the frontal cortex has already been shut down.  It is now a primitive reflex from the limbic system.)

You wouldn't drink alcohol in front of your loved ones who are in recovery.  Shouldn't we do the same thing with addictive foods?  What if all of society did that?

I invite you to dive into the ketolox phasing program to show you how addicted you are, by getting you off the addictive substances so you can feel the difference.

This is really what I call the Food Slave Tragedy.   It got everyone running around in circles, as they assume food choices aren't that impactful. The definition of insanity......

You don't have to do it alone.  You have support at the office.

Don't Eat Fruit

Call to Action:  Understand why fruit is just another addictive substance that adds more nerve stress to your body via an insulin response that increases inflammation slamming more chemical insult on a subluxated spine. And then, don't eat any more fruit.  (Ask me about the ketolox phasing program for brain health.)

One thing that changes your brain is an addiction that fries your dopamine neurotransmitters and making it difficult to experience that natural energy we were born with.

If you are living in modern America, you are addicted to carbohydrates and it is ignored until you become obese or diabetic.

How do you "feed your brain?" I prefer nutrients, not toxins.
Listen to Dr. Robert Cwyes give a very short and sweet (sorry) explanation.

Crack Down on Carbs

Call to action: take a mental inventory of your overactive interest in carbs that have addictive brain responses.

Why do I Crack Down on Carbs?
Don't pick on the cocaine addicts. It's not that simple.

Did You Know?

The Standard American Diet endorphin high is no different.

The opioid crisis got its start from carb induced inflammation on the brain.

U.S. children have grown up high before trying any illicit drug.

What's your dietary crack?
The toughest health problem to fix is persistent systemic inflammation caused by society's acceptance of carb addiction.

It's not only an obesity issue.  It is about inflammation, no matter how much you weigh.  Inflammation is the basis of all dis-ease and sickness.

None of us is immune. Modern foods have impaired our brains.

Signs of carbohydrate addiction:
weight gain
 low energy
 stiff/achy joints
 high blood pressure
insulin resistance
frequent blood sugar drops
high triglycerides
brain fog anxiety
poor stress adaptation

We typically choose these foods not for nutrients, but for the endorphin reinforcement.  You're thinking right now about your next meal, but not for the nutrition, but for the emotional gratification.  Your next next snack is going to give you a  nice, warm, happy feeling.  You can't deny it.  Before your next meal or snack, stop and think about the longing, anticipation you have in the back of your mind.  What if you delayed it another hour?  Yikes...yes, that anxious feeling your just felt for one second is the craving for your next endorphin surge.  This continues the steady influx of inflammation.

Dr. Lisa's Ketolox Phasing Program is your food freedom tool:
  • Overcome the “food like” substances that monopolize our diet.
  • Experience the physical and mental freedom when the brain's food obsession is gone.
  • Free up your brain so it can concentrate on healing.
Remember*****Chiropractic influences the limbic system

What the Secret Service Didn't Tell You

Call to Action: The Secret Service needs to learn about the BFA Protocol.
(image: timesofindia.indiatimes.com) So, now that the g o v t peeps have flagged my blog, I want to talk about the bullying report released by the AP last week.

If you go to the AP news website, search the title; Secret Service Study: School Attacker Showed Warning Signs.

Just the fact that the conclusion states the violence was not impulsive, but rather the incidents could have been prevented. Also, people who noticed problems in the children did nothing about it.  Perhaps, in  my opinion, no one really knows what to do.  Most mental health care is a dismal failure, but that's a discussion for another day.

I want to broach the topic by discussing what was not mentioned by the report. They could not come up with a predictable profile.  The only similarity was that they were absent from school for a time before they returned to commit violence, and they had a history of behavioral problems along with being past victims of bullying.

From what I remember from past news stories, their family lives were a mixture.  Some had an intact home with both parents, others were not.  There were weapons in the home, but I think that weapons are not the problem.  There is a correlation with violent video games, but not all kids who play these games leave their homes to harm to others.  I have watched my share of horribly violent movies, and I'm not walking the streets looking for a fight. Many violent movies have won Academy Awards watched by millions, so I can't put all the blame on the media.

What the Secret Service didn't tell us is how many of these aggressors are on a number of legally prescribed psychiatric medications.  It has been mentioned in the news after previous shootings.  Now, if you just google Peter Breggin MD and look up how often he is an expert witness regarding violence after prescription drug use, you'll be shocked at the court cases the drug companies have lost.

What I want to bring up now is why these people are put on drugs?  They weren't coping well with life.  After being put on these drugs they still were not coping well with life.  Drugs like these are mitochondria poisons.  How does the brain work when mitochondria are damaged?  How about the damage already occurring because of dietary poisonings, carbohydrate addiction that clearly changes the brain, and other injuries to the body that have changed brain and immune function?  We now know that disturbances in the gut directly affect the brain.  See the many brain conditions already at risk?

Talk therapy will not work if someone is nutritionally deficient and their brains are high on sugar, processed foods, etc.  I've seen it when I was a mental health therapist.  When I ran a group therapy for individuals labeled bipolar, they were all addicted to cigarettes, Twinkies, and caffeinated soda.  I didn't have to do any nutritional studies back then to know they were trapped in a cyclical mess of poisons.

The information is out there.  We all know the Standard American Diet is problematic.  We have found ourselves in this predicament because the compounding affects of stress are difficult to overcome when children are starving, yet they look pretty robust and normal on the outside.   It's a sad domino effect when children exposed to harsh experiences can't heal because they are nutritionally deprived.

In fact, this new story should urge us to work on better ways to feed our children, as well as ourselves.
Please revisit my previous blog post about behavioral problems associated with processed food addictions

Am I saying by the time law enforcement gets involved it could be too late?  Yes.  If we are using the same strategies in the courts and mental health systems.

More to come as I continue commenting on this issue....stay tuned.

See you at the table.
The adjusting table.

The Common Addiction to Food and the Scary Road to the Opioid Crisis

Call to Action:  Evaluate your diet of addictive foods and consider how they might be pushing you toward unnecessary medication use.

This is a part 2 to my previous post about food addictions being an underlying cause of depression and anxiety.  Here is the Link.

If folks think I am putting a stretch on this idea, but baseline poor nutrition runs you down the road to sickness and discomfort.  I am concerned about the medication usage in our society.  People younger than me are on 3-4 different medications.  Why????
From a WebMD article: prescription use has risen 85% from 1998 to 2016. Incredible.  And this is normalized.

It is a natural progression, if you're not feeling better on a medication, you try stronger versions, and now we have an opioid crisis because people were led to believe that they were not addictive.

Yet, the Standard American Diet is highly addictive.  People often swap one addiction for another.  This is something our young people need to be taught.  Non-foods often believed to be foods are changing the brain.  They deprive the body of nutrients, which makes you constantly hungry as the body is calling out for better food.

Continuously eating the American fare of grains, sugars, and seeds oils keeps your blood sugar high inviting more addictive cravings.  This is very similar to the blood glucose problems of people who are abusing heroin.  See the connection there?

I focus on this pretty seriously because the Standard American Diet is all over the place and it takes quite a bit of planning to avoid the foods that are plentiful.  Considering they never go bad since they are dead foods sealed in a plastic bag, they are cheap and it's easy to just store it up in huge warehouses.

And, interestingly, our health has steadily declined since our modern way of preserving foods has taken us away from traditional foods and traditional ways of preparing foods.

Check out this video from Dr. Berg. Yes, he has references in the description.  Our food has changed, but 100 years later we don't know the difference.  We have normalized sickness.

Conclusion: I want your chiropractic adjustments to react like rocket fuel  (Powerful)!!  Removing the toxic stress of these addictive, anti-nutrients  makes a major difference from ho-hum to Amazing.

Your Anxiety and Depression is a Food Addiction: How's That For a Twist?

Call to Action: What toxins are getting in the way of your chiropractic care?  How can you make your adjustments more powerful?

Constant toxic exposure messes with your brain. Food (that term is used loosely) is the #1 problem.   We need to eat to live,  but not everything edible is nutritious.

I mentioned to someone the other day, why would I want to adjust an unresponsive spine?  It took her aback a bit, but she quickly understood.  When your body is clogged up with inflammation, how can the chiropractic adjustment give you positive benefits?

It does help the body function better.  I wouldn't deprive anyone of the opportunity.  But a plateau is often reached when there is a constant stream of interference.

Toxic exposure is the #1 threat!    Toxins consumed, inhaled, and absorbed, not to mention toxic thinking.  (Toxic build up of muscle waste products, from overuse, and injury is also a concern. but that's a lesson for another day.)

One super quick way to impair the brain is with foods that lack nutrients forcing your body to crave, hoping for more food.  An insatiable appetite makes someone hungry every 2-3 hours.  Being hungry often is not healthy.  This snowballs into metabolic syndrome, diabetes, chronic pain, poor energy, memory problems, difficulty concentrating, digestive disturbances....
Overlapping causes.....compensating effects.

Dead tissue cannot respond to the chiropractic adjustment.
Starving tissue is a close 2nd.
Chronic inflammation takes up residence in tissues that are toxic and starving.
Feeding your tissues properly ensures the chiropractic adjustment can deliver healing energy.

For a nice summary of food addiction and how understanding it has evolved over the decades, watch this video of an interview with Joan Ifland.  Her personal story is quite compelling.

Would you build a house without a roof?

Call to Action: There' s more to chiropractic than the "crack your back,"sarcasm I'm personally tired of hearing.  Find out what else is available.
Don't Skimp, Skip or Cheat Yourself

B.F.A. Services
Chiropractic Care
Chiropractic as a maintenance routine for brain protection.

Once a week is considered a beneficial frequency for maintenance care after the spine feels more stable, however, twice a week or three times a week is not downplayed either. Stress is very intense and it makes sense to counteract our stress with ongoing subluxation removal.

Sometimes folks need to come in twice the same day. There's nothing wrong with that.

Chiropractic is about being proactive, rather reactive.

S.T.A.R. Sessions
** Extinguish stubborn stress patterns
** Establish healthier nerve patterns

A 30 minuted extended chiropractic session using vibration, sound or silence, adhesion release, and essentials oils with adjustments to calm an over-active nervous system.

S.T.A.R. Sessions are especially useful when other typical stress management approaches don't work for you, or you want some extra down time to release tension from your body.
Standard Process Nutrients

The nutrients in our food have been greatly diminished over many generations. Even organic foods have their deficiencies due environmental challenges. Glyphosate is now in all plant foods, animal products and water supplies causing leaky gut and other health problems. This requires us to be diligent with adding back nutrients and detoxing our tissues. Standard Process provides food concentrates that have the best bio-availability. It's no coincidence that people are getting sicker and are stuck on maintenance drugs. (That's the wrong kind of maintenance in my book!) Don't forget- chiropractic care also helps with digestion and nutrient uptake, too.
Dr. Lisa's “Keto Phasing”

People are very hesitant to adopt the ketogenic diet because misinformation abounds. It is truly the original human diet. Sadly, healing has been elusive to most people who continue eating inflammatory foods. The best healing takes place when people are in a state of ketosis, and this includes fasting, so it's not all about food. I offer a coaching program that helps people “phase in” the keto life style with confidence that they are meeting their health goals without feeling they must say good-bye to the enjoyment of food. This is also another brain re-wiring exercise where the addiction to insulin spiking foods is resolved and the false-satiety of unhealthy foods is also extinguished.

What is Metabolic Hypoxia

Call to Action: Decide right now if you are tolerating annoying health problems and need to take a different look at why they are hanging around annoying you.
What is Metabolic Hypoxia?
The logical answer to your confusing symptoms

If you feel as if your healing has stalled, or you hit a plateau.  It is time to consider that there are overlapping causes to your poor health.  We live complicated lives and many negative things are happening at the same time to contribute to your lack of energy, pain, and worry.

Also, as the body goes into self-protection mode, a number of compensating effects will kick in that do not respond to the typical first line defenses, such as a pain relieving drug, topical analgesic, TUMS, or other quick style symptom relievers.

Face it, we are just complicated creatures. But, that's ok.  What we can do is delve into what it takes to build up the body and step away from the activities that break down the body.

Diet plays an important role in how we heal.  We can't heal properly if we aren't fueling our bodies properly.  One aspect we can look at is how well does your body handle the toxic waste products of energy metabolism.  The by-products of energy production from food digestion are able to be recycled but some people may have difficulty if they are eating a diet high in carbs and/or have nutrient deficiencies.

Dr. Darren Schmidt from the Nutritional Healing Center of Ann Arbor has been teaching about this for years and realized that earlier in the 20th century, doctors knew about this mechanism of disease but it fell out of favor because food was the solution. And, boy, how boring is that to just go to the grocery store?

You don't need a fancy PhD or sophisticated medical title after your name.  You just have to change your dietary habits.

Dr. Schmidt created an online quiz to help folks look at their health histories so they can be given nutritional advice to boost their healing.   He encourages people to share this information freely because his life's goal is to put the pharmaceutical industry out of business.  We can work on this one person at a time.

I have borrowed his quiz questions and listed them below so you can see how many examples ring true for you.  Next, you can ask me for the BFA template and healing map, available at the office.

I also have created the handout called: What is Metabolic Hypoxia?
(Metabolic glitches that add more stress to the body)

Help Yourself Heal
Over time the liver cannot detox the metabolic waste products of a typical carb heavy diet.

These toxins, (acetate, acid aldehyde, lactate, give you the wrung out, hangover feelings) build up in the blood vessels, blocking oxygen and pooling waste/inflammation in the organs and muscles. Also the body suffers from a B Complex deficiency. (Think mitochondrial disease)

The healing protocol includes a keto diet, intermittent fasting, nutrients to support the liver and boost B vitamins. It is a major life style change that invites a welcomed sense of personal freedom with a profound disinterest in the unhealthy foods you thought were fine to eat.

Do any of these problems/discomforts affect you?
(Disclaimer:  None of these examples are for diagnosing disease.  If you have an emergency situation, go to the ER or call 911.  This is information about healing tissues that have suffered under metabolic deficiencies and inflammation.)
