When You Need to Focus, Shoot Pool: Balance & Self Growth Exercise

I was listening to Dr. Laura today and she was talking about how she has been learning to play pool. I have played myself a time or two but was never consistent with it. It certainly develops concentration.

When you first learn pool, as in any new activity, you wish you could put your brain and body in slow motion until your coordination improves. Over time the new nervous system connections sprout up making your brain more efficient.

This doesn't apply to only sports and music because eye hand coordination are very important. But thinking-deciding-doing coordination needs this much attention, as well. If you are working a desk job you don't' raise your heart rate that much, but you want an alert brain to help you handle all the intellectual tasks at hand. That's why pursuing a leisure time activity such as music or sports helps with planning and problem solving.

Dr. Laura said on her show today that she was overwhelmed with the amount of work needed to improve at pool and it was aggravating to her. I don't blame her. Someone with a black belt still needs to reestablish a different nerve pathway to accomplish this new activity. She took a week off so she could resume with a fresh perspective.

How is your own thinking-deciding-doing coordination? Are you stuck in a rut with our goals and actions? Take up a new hobby to refresh your outlook.

Sleeping Giants / Sleeping Beauties: The Law of Attraction & Informed Consent

Are you self critical? Does it help you in decision making? In this podcast, I discuss the Law of Attraction idea that using an emotion-less process for weighing the pros and cons of a situation allows you the opportunity to be open to multiple options. Informed consent is an ambiguous term used in our health care culture that implies a person has been able to make a fully informed decision. That is not always the case becasue it can be very overwhelming. The individual is responsible for taking the time to study all the options. Also, a person's "psychology of wellness" determines what is deemed to be important in bringing balance to one's life.

Autumn Soup

I made soup today. It isn't often that I get this busy in the kitchen (since Mike cooks). I made a minestrone but I wanted to use up the rest of the cabbage. I made an extra batch of veggie soup using the cabbage, onions, and my last butternut squash. I liked the sweet squashing flavor with the onions. I really wanted to make onion soup, so I was getting adventurous with the squash. Here's the recipe if you'd like to try it out. All measurements are estimated. This was a pure impromptu experience.

1 large onion, the humongous kind, chopped but not too finely chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
2-3 celery stalks, chopped, soup style
olive oil for sauteing
1 butternut squash, 1 inch diced cubes
1/4 head of cabbage, chopped
broth/water combo (you choose)
spices to taste

***************

saute onions, garlic
add the celery and saute a bit longer
add the squash and do a quick saute
add the broth/water combo
add the cabbage
simmer, spice, and enjoy

Make sure you have a lot of onions. There should be more onions than squash.

When You Need Extra: Getting Balanced with Chiropractic Adjustments

Eirne was coughing all week. Last winter he had a bad cough that kept him up for hours and left Mike and me exhausted. He would get so worked up, he would vomit. That's an annoying cough.

Eirne gets adjusted once a week because emotions, physical traumas, and chemical toxins stress the spine leading to subluxations. I tell my practice members when they are feeling down and out because the immune system is working overtime to come in and get extra adjustments. That is the whole purpose of the practice membership program.

When Eirne developed his cough this past week, I adjusted him every night before bed. Now, he did not appreciate it because he was achy and sore from tensing his body every time he coughed, but he slept most nights. One time he woke up coughing but easily settled back down sleep with a back rub and some encouraging words to get his mind off it. Last night he coughed for a while during his sleep, which seems odd. Since he slept through it he wasn't getting upset and that's what leads to him getting sicker with the vomiting.

He had a cough for a reason. He had a lot of congestion and post nasal drip. He doesn't yet understand the concept of blowing his nose. Coughing keeps the junk out of the lungs. Stifling a cough will spread the pathogens deeper into the body. I just wanted him to sleep peacefully. He can have a runny nose all day. I don't care because that's what the body needs to do.

I've discussed this in the office. Symptoms are normal. How we try to combat them is very abnormal. The body uses symptoms to tell us it is in self-defense mode. Treating symptoms just to halt them is like putting water on a grease fire.

Eirne will probably still have his cough tomorrow, but he is sleeping and that is when the best healing takes place.

If you're subluxated, get adjusted. If you don't get adjusted you'll just get weaker.

Sleeping Giants / Sleeping Beauties Podcast -----You've Got A Problem; Big Deal

I am going to sound cold and heartless, but what's the big deal about your problem? I truly am not trying to sound cold and heartless but a lot of turmoil can be prevented if we ask ourselves a simple question: How do you feel about yourself because ______ is happening? Do you feel defeated and rejected or do you feel ready to understand your situation so you are moved to dissecting it in order to weigh your options? Let's explore how we label ourselves.

Food IS NOT Love...unless it is raw

Meet Phillip at http://www.lovingraw.com/.

His story is interesting. He was about to go through gastric bypass surgery when he began a raw feed eating plan.

He admits the food of his former days remind him of love and family. But it had nothing to do with the food. It all had to do with the love of his family.

He talks about this on his video blog: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=399mBhaGkQM&feature=related

Tour a raw food restaurant: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TpMwMHGLCQo&feature=related

I realize I am writing this right before Thanksgiving. We're going to be surrounded with the traditional goodies. The best traditional goodies are the family and friends we will spending our time with as well as taking time off from the daily responsibilities and rest. Right? We get to rest during the holiday? If you aren't, make a point to get some R & R time.

No, I won't be eating an entirely raw Thanksgiving dinner, but it is not too hard to include something raw during each meal. We can add more than some lettuce and poorly ripened tomato.

If anyone is doing any indoor gardening, leave a comment here. I'd like to support you. If anyone has fresh herbs growing during the winter, let us know how you've been doing it.

Evolve Body, Mind, & Spirit with Chiropractic

If the body is sick, the mind worries and the spirit grieves;
if the mind is sick, the body and spirit will suffer from its confusion;
if the spirit is sick, there will be no will to care for the body or mind.
---J.R. Worsley

Worry and grief do not aid the healing process. Worry and grief block the healing process. When you are under chiropractic care, you are confident knowing you are assisting the nervous system to be more efficient for you.

Suffering due to confusion is a sad waste of time. Unfortunately, confusion abounds when people give up their own power and decision making. Confusion abounds when people stop seeking balance. Chiropractic care is a straightforward approach to promoting the body's prime healing system.

If there is no will to care for yourself, not only are you hurting, but your loved ones are affected as well. Health is not just for the individual. It has a domino effect on the entire community. Chiropractic is for those who understand we all play a role in the well-being of each other. Chiropractic is for those who want to be a positive link in the chain of life. Chiropractic is for those who care how their actions directly and indirectly impact the world.

What WHO Knows About Your Health

One of my chiropractic journals recently quoted a number of statistic provided by the World Health Organization. The WHO reported that Americans, comprising 4% of the world's population, consume 42% of all the world's drugs. This is very telling considering the U.S. ranks 37th in the world's health systems. There are 36 other countries that are better informed. Do you think we should be looking outside our borders for health advice? Why not? It's called informed consent.

I do not take any prescription drugs or over the counter drugs. A number of my practice members also take no type of medicine. To me, 42% is a worrisome number because the number could actually be higher if knowledge of natural health was not as popular as it is today.

Sleeping Giants/Sleeping Beauties Podcast:Translating Disability, Listening to the Body's Pleas

Happy November! This is my first blog entry in a while. My environment seemed more noisy than usual and I put my creative juices on the back burner. In fact, I wrote down numerous notes for upcoming blog entries but seemed to have misplaced them. That is really on the back burner...maybe all the way out of the back door.

This week's podcast delves into emotions becoming physical in the body. I've talked about emotional subluxations being more pravelnt than the typical physical subluxations that seem to get more attention.

I discussed this in a past post: http://createpurpose.blogspot.com/2007/02/subluxation-vs-wellness-when-you-are.html

Wayne Pickering, a Success University faculty member noted in a health talk that we get a whole lot more attention from our problems than the solutions. Once a solution is reached, there's nothing left to talk about, but I have to disagree. It allows more time for being more alive. While I see the societal oddity of bragging about everything that is wrong, you can join an exclusive club that focuses on the opposite. It's called wellness in body, mind, and spirit. Learn more about Dr. Pickering at http://www.healthatlast.com/.

The podcast touches on a few related topics, but I chose to put information on injuries in the work place in the title:

Disability in the Workplace: Mind~Body Connection--Translate What the Body is Communicating Through Disabiility

Injuries that lead to disability in the work place are highly correlated to emotional dissatisfaction with work or personal issues. Can managers and employers recognize when workers aren't using their talents effectively and help them find the appropriate path? This is just one example of translating the body's unique language. It's difficult to listen to what our bodies try to tell us. Afterall, there doesn't seem to be much excitement in balanced solutions when we have become accustomed to the persistent negative reinforcement of dwelling on the immediate problems. Addiction reframing is another example of translating the body-mind language.

Sleeping Giants/Sleeping Beauties Podcast: Your Body Can't Let Go Unless You Let Go...

Sleeping Giants/Sleeping Beauties Podcast

Gentle Nudging to Wake Up Your Life

I gave myself a crash course in podcasting so you can have a mini-seminar at your leisure, right in your own home.

It was a good first run, and I've learned how to improve on the next one. This one is 16 minutes. It took all day to prepare for 16 minutes. Hey, this is right in line with my last blog entry talking about life-long-learning. Introducing yourself to something new on a regular basis keeps you sharp and excited. Enjoy.

(Be sure to put your comments in this blog or on the podcast website. I can follow up with it on the next blog entry or in the podcast.)

Your Body Can't Let Go Unless You Let Go
I work with people everyday who are frustrated because their bodies are in some kind of a dysfunctional pattern. The body can't let go of it because they can't let go of something in the mind. Learning how to allow a trauma to be released is liberating.

Requirements for Mind-Body Synchronicity

Yes, there are requirements in life if you want desirable outcomes. I can't sugar coat it, although I meet sugar-coated types everyday who are trying to write their own rules. There is some level of flexibility that is necessary in life, but you have to admit in our society we tend to go to extremes.

Remember Hans Seyle's stress theory. He said the body will handle a certain amount of stress for a limited time. This is the "sugar coated" stage for people who continue to postpone their own self care.

One of the requirements for Mind-Body Synchronicity is Life-Long-Learning.

Why is Life-Long-Learning so important?

The nervous system has a great ability to learn and take on new patterns. We must continually educate ourselves with information that is "reinforce-able" and compatible with wellness and advanced living.

Teach the body with exercise.
Teach the mind with liberating information.
Teach the nervous system with adjustments that reinforce wellness patterns.
Teach the body to desire living foods.
Teach the spirit to look forward to the future.

How do you enhance you Mind-Body Synchronicity? What is the state of your Life-Long-Learning? The brain is waiting for new programs to be installed.

The Power of P.U.S.H. / Chiropractic Connection

Do you take advantage of the Power of P.U.S.H.?

Everyone is motivated by avoiding pain and seeking pleasure, but how do we maintain a healthy view? We've always heard the middle road is the way to go. If in doubt, stick with moderation. There is another way of making progress and promoting personal success. It is called the Power of P.U.S.H. It sounds too easy, but it works and the best of the best know that P.U.S.H. is the golden rule:

P = Properly
U = Utilized
S = Simple
H = Habits

Success is not an accident and while it is always good to dream big, it's the little things we do that keeps up the cohesion so we can continue to grow.

What are your properly utilized simple habits? Take an inventory of what you do on a regular basis. Can you add one or two more behaviors to your routine so you can see your results expand?

What simple habits can you properly utilize?

Take a 10 minute walk
Read two or three pages of an inspirational book
Add an extra piece of fruit to a meal
Write a thank you letter
Get your adjustment once a week...not just when you can make it in..

From a chiropractic point of view, consistency gives you clarity. Don't let your spine get bogged down with the by-products of a stressful day. Don't put it off. I am P.U.S.H.ing you to be your best.

Please leave a comment of a new P.U.S.H. you want to incorporate into your day.

Are You Feeling Squeezed? Chiropractic Connection to the Mind & Body

Are You Feeling Squeezed?

You know the saying: pressue makes diamonds

How much stress are you feeling right now? How will you benefit from it? Can you use stress as a spring board to a better yourself?

How do you embrace stress? Do you let it lead you to better decisions? We have two choices. We can collapse under the pressure or transform it into a lovely diamond.

I focus on the synchronicity between the body and the mind because they are uniquely linked. Our health picture is a reflection of the emotional work we are or are not attending to. The body speaks to us in a different language and with appropriate translation we can find balance to both our physical and mental well-being.

I encourage you to take the path that turns the pressure into diamonds.

Below is a related article I found at Ezine-Articles.com that I like. We often focus on getting rid of pain as quickly as possible, any way possible. If we are not attending to the central problem, it gives us many chances to face it again.

The Purpose of Pain
Dr. Peter Lind

Think out of the box for a moment with me. What if the symptoms you have: headaches, neck pain, shoulder pain, back pain, or whatever else you want to add to the list, exist to serve a purpose? What if the only reason your symptoms are there are for you to learn something from?

Radical?

Track with me. Think of pain in emotional terms, like the symptom you have has a specific emotional state associated with it. It means something.

How does your headache make you feel? Does it make you feel sad? Abandoned? Does it make you feel like you can’t think straight anymore? Like you can’t bear that one thought anymore? Like you can’t think about that one thing any longer? Does it make you feel weary?
Now, let’s say you answered those questions and came up with a reasonable answer. You say: “Well, yeas, I do believe my headaches began when I was in grade school when my mother scolded me for being late for school every day. And now, every day just before I leave for work I get a headache that begins on the left side of my head, and I can remember I used to hold my hand up to my ear so I didn’t want to hear my mom yell at me. It’s the same place on my head. So, Dr Lind, if I would get to work on time there might be a chance that my headaches would subside?”

No, I’m not saying that exactly. I’m saying that if you begin to look at your symptoms emotionally, like your body is trying to say something to you, you might begin to unravel some of the problems you have today.

Whoa, that’s looking at your pain and physical problems differently.
Great, let’s go deeper.

Now, let me ask you: why did your mom have to yell at you every day? You were just going to school, right? No big deal. What’s the problem? Well, the yelling for being late for school never made sense to your brain. So your brain said to itself: “I’m going to store this right now as a headache because I don’t understand this yelling thing. And someday I hope that you (you) deal with trying to understand it but until then I’m going to give you headaches as a way for me to deal with it and for you as a reminder until you deal with it.”

So you have headaches every day and never bothered to ask yourself why.

Right now, what do your headaches made you feel? I’ll answer for you and I’ll say, weary; they make you feel weary. And if you asked yourself when you were a kid when your mom first began yelling at you, you would have said weary then, also. I would have explained it like this:
You were late because you liked to sleep and you felt good sleeping and sleeping was more rewarding to you than being late and getting yelled at. You were still tired, weary, but being weary and sleeping was more rewarding to you than getting yelled at for being late.
Do your headaches make you weary (or what exactly is the emotion?).

Now, let’s go deeper still. If you stop the purpose of the headache like medicating it, without dealing with its cause, wouldn’t it be reasonable that your amazing brain would find another pain or symptom? Your brain wants you to deal with your emotions but yet it doesn’t want to go through the emotional pain while working on it. It would like you to make some sort of sense out of an emotion that never made sense and do it in a way that is non-traumatic again.

So your brain gives you a pain syndrome.

Now, what if you would take the pain and deal with it like an active emotion? Talk to it and say: “Hey head pain, you make me feel weary. I’m going to stop feeling weary if you let my head pain alone. Don’t do this pain anymore. And I’ll do everything I can to stop feeling weary. I’m going to arrive at all my appointments early, in fact I’m going to be so punctual that I’m going to become “happy-early”, a new character I’m going to develop for myself. And while I’m busy doing that, we’re both going to change—you, the head pain, and me the late, weary person.”
Try this for a month and see what happens. I’m willing to bet it will change your life.

No Clock Day: Time Management Includes Playing Hooky

I took a No-Clock Day today. Mike and I both took the day off and reveled in the idea that the rest of the world was in a week day routine. We had no appointments and no need to worry about the clock. I wanted it to be a spontaneous day. I did do the laundry and we stopped at the hardware store and the bank, but we avoided all "job stuff" as much as possible.

At 11 AM I decided to go for a run. I had to rummage through the closet for my running shoes. I hadn't gone running in at least a year. It was pushed to the back burner because the weather was never right or Eirne needed my attention or I had just eaten (I must have been eating all day long).

It was a nice run. And then I stopped at the farmer's market. I read all the newspapers that piled up. I even listened to some podcasts. It was nice to have a No-Clock Day.

I was surprised that I didn't feel even a little guilty about skipping a lot of "work" chores. I did begin a mental list of what to do tomorrow, but I should be much more organized and focused because of this extra day of rest.

When is your next No-Clock Day?

Surpassion: Advanced Living [Chiropractic Inspired Life-Style]

This Sunday's opening prayer at church proclaimed God's love surpasses all our thoughts and desires. I reflected on this and decided this should inspire us to have "surpassion. "

Being in awe of all the gifts presented to us in this world, I can't help but feel the byproduct of all this generosity as "surpassion."

Since I made up this word I should explain more of its meaning to me. (I googled it, too, just to make sure no one else thought of it. It is not an official word in the English dictionary, anyway.)

Everything can be described as an exchange of energy. Matter is energy. We, as humans, have a great deal of influence over the energy we give and receive reciprocally. Our collective human potential surpasses our current level of thinking. Since we have the opportunity to evolve in our hearts and minds, it becomes our surpassion.

Surpassion allows us to honor our physical and non-physical gifts. It is a never ending optimism that compels us to share our talents and give of our time to make the world a better place.

Your chiropactic adjustment is a special time to honor the energy and matter components of your hard working nervous system. It always, always, always, plays a role in how you think, act, love, create and transform. (I used to say "heal" but "transform" inspires us to be more.

The Power of Awareness: Chiropractic Clarity

When we are not in sync with God's gift of universal intelligence, we create a world of weakness and disharmony.

The amazing life story of David R. Hawkins, MD PhD, demonstrates how capable we are if we dissolve the negative barriers from our lives. I just got a copy of his book, Power vs. Force and his words resonate with other science oriented people who feel a spiritual awareness in everything such as Candice Pert, PhD, and Deepak Chopra, MD.

The following quote from another book of Dr. Hawkin's explains how misunderstanding it keeps people stuck in poor attiudes, poor health, poor relationships, etc.

"The readiness to initiate the journey cannot be forced nor can people be faulted if it has not occurred in them as yet. The level of consciousness has to have advanced to the stage where such an intention would be meaningful and attractive."
The Eye of The I…David R. Hawkins, M.D., PhD

His quote sheds light on why these ideas are overlooked as ways to enhance our lives.

From a chiropractic point of view, getting clear is the first step so a person can develop an openness to the incredible benefits of mind-body synchronicity. We can begin to get clear by detoxifying our bodies as well as our thoughts and attitudes.

Chiropractic clears out the blockages that deter our own energy processes within the nervous system so we can be alert and ready to enjoy life.

The Mechanical, Melodious, & Miracle: Chiropractic Path to Personal Freedom

Welcome to Mind-Body Synchronicity. This is a personal development program with a chiropractic focus. This is the gem of chiropractic that, once understood, expands a person's life in amazing ways.

The mind and body respond to each other. The body speaks to us very uniquely but there are few who can translate its language. Chiropractic takes care of that. With the nervous system being the most important survival system of the body, it must be allowed to do its job without interference.

I try to convey this to my practice members in different ways without trying to dissect every aspect of the human body. Who has that kind of time? I spent a year studying anatomy and still didn't learn everything. The neuro-physiology of the mental impulse has been studied like crazy lately. I love talking about it all day long. But not everyone sees the same excitement in it like I do...not yet.

I like to present it in 3 simple steps:
1. The Mechanical
2. The Melodious
3. The Miracle

Most people look at the body as a mechanical masterpiece. It is a fine beginning point, but once the understanding grows, looking at life mechanically becomes prehistoric, almost too rudimentary. Every part of the body has its place and works systematically with its neighboring organ or muscle. We appear to be very mechanical. You can even replace some parts with transplanted organs or artificial joints. But we are not truly mechanical. We can't stop there because it doesn't honor the cognitive and emotional sides of human existence. We cannot be taken apart piece by piece and put back together again. Something unique is missing. The melody.

The melodious part of us is that unseen essence that keeps us alive. Our thoughts have interesting ways to affect the body such as emotions creating hormonal events within the body. There is a melody that sings inside of us that connect organs that are not near each other. Cells respond to nerve signals that are nowhere near it. Cells can communicate without touching. Relying alone on a mechanistic view does not explain this living phenomenon.

This takes us to the miracle. Do we need to be able to explain everything? We are miracles. We are special creations who continue to co-create by interacting with the rest of the population and using and replenishing what is available to us on this earth. For many this is our profound connection with God. Others call this our innate link with universal intelligence. It is miraculous.

Chiropractic is Personal Development?

When you receive a chiropractic adjustment, the mechanical, melodious, and miraculous connections are "revved" up to the maximum so becoming the best person you want to be is withing your reach.

Many believe in the regualar tune-up.
Others believe little can be achieved without health.
There are others who believe nothing can be achieved without a respect for our innate gifts provided by God.

Chiropractic honors the mechanical, melodious, and miracle inside each of us.

I invite you to experience the personal freedom that is inspired by chiropractic.

See you at the table...the adjusting table.

60 Minutes Questions Drugs for Children

I just watched the 60 Minutes episode about toddlers being treated with drugs for bipolar disorder. Psychiatrists believe 2 year old children can be depressed and manic. A mom and dad are charged with murder because their 3 year old daughter died of heart and lung damage due to prolonged drug abuse, according to the medical examiner. The mother was interviewed saying she was only following the directions on the bottles...
Yes, I said bottles. Three different drugs because the child was "driving me crazy." And, the other children in this family are also diagnosed with mental disorders and there was a huge risk on this child because of a family history.

Here are my questions that were not asked in the 60 Minutes episode:

What is this family's home life like?

What kind of nutrition is this family eating?

Did this child have a traumatic birth?

How healthy was the mom during her pregnancy?

Did this child ever suffer a serious trauma such as a fall or shaking?

Were there any reactions from vaccines, even if they were weeks after the administrations?

What could life have been like if every family member was getting chiropractic adjustments?

I cannot over emphasize the different ways spinal distortions, spinal injuries, and progression of subluxations affect the quality of life of the individual.

Help me spread the word.

The Silent Majority: Subluxations Out of Control Derailing Our Health

I was listening to a radio show that mentioned the "silent majority" of people who dislike the current entertainment trends negatively influencing society. This "silent majority" remains silent because it seems futile to speak out against it.

As a chiropractor who teaches the common neurological progression of all dis-eases in the body and mind are connected to the subluxation is in the silent majority as well. When people are not educated or ignore the science of subluxation degeneration, they have turned their back on a critical health problem in this world.

There is no point in saying heart disease and cancer are the number one killers in the U.S. While these diagnoses appears to be the immediate cause of death on autopsy reports or death certificates, no one can argue the lifetime accumulation of stress that has damaged organs, blood vessels, nerves, and the communication system of the body that coordinates healing.

Subluxations play an incredible role in maintaining health, yet, only a small portion of the population take this threat seriously. Rather than comment on the lack of information disseminated in public service announcements or the problems with insurance coverage and non-chiropractors attempting to illegally practice chiropractic without a license, I only need to repeat one sentence from a chiropractic class called the neurological basis of disease:

Only 10% of all nociceptive nerve signals reach the brain.

Nociception is a process when something noxious or not normal is happening in the body and the nerves received this message. The spinal cord filters out these signals and only 10% of the time the brain notified. If these signals do not reach the brain, you do not feel any pain. If you do not feel any pain, you assume all is well.

Subluxations are not painful 90% of the time but they continuously downgrade the nervous system's ability to respond to stress and heal.

Many are not concerned with the silent majority called subluxations. I am concerned about it every day of my life.

While you may have different priorities regarding your chiropractic care, I am focused on the silent effects of subluxations.

The Unappreciated Cervical Spine: Chiropractic & the Balance Factor

If we consider the mechanical aspects of the neck, it will only excite the nerdy chiropractors ( I am "nerdy chiropractor" up to a point). From an anatomical and physiological view point, the neck is a very busy part of the body. Not only does it support the brain, thyroid, and let you eat your dinner, the neck is a very important transport point for nerves that control the autonomic nervous system. These are the information super high-ways that keep your vital functions going.

In a more holistic perspective it connects the head and the heart and you truly need to be in touch with both to live well. Historically there has been the argument: which is more powerful -- living through your head or your heart? Your head allows you to think through possible consequences of your choices. Your heart gives you emotional feedback, as well. We use them both at different times for different reasons, for different outcomes.

But never forget...the neck that is in the middle.
The cervical spine is the life line.

Staying balanced is key. That includes your head and your heart. And, all the physical and non-physical aspects of the nervous system.

See you at the table...the adjusting table.

What's Screaming the Loudest: Priorities & the Squeaky Wheel [The Insanity of Time Management Stress]

What is screaming the loudest right now? What is blaring in your head?

1. Car repairs so I am not stranded
2. Cat food so those happy scratchers stay docile
3. The last person I was talking to on the phone

Let's shift out of that pattern for a moment and take a look at what is quiet in your mind.

My day off away from the phone never speaks up
The calming walk along my favorite stream is in last place right now
My gratitude attitude and prayer time
Reading to my child

The old saying is right; the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
But the quiet wheel gives back so much more.

The same is true with your chiropractic adjustment. How much more efficient can you be with your mind-body synchronicity pumped up a notch?

See you at the table...the adjusting table.

Put It To Good Use: Harness Innate Intelligence for Emotional Freedom

At your next adjustment make a mental note of your emotional state and how well your subluxations are released. It is amazing how stored emotions and the effects of stress and time are felt in the spine. Ask me what I notice on your spine.

When you see a flashing red light on a state troopers car in the rear view window while you are driving, what is the first thing that you feel? Does you heart start to beat fast and your stomach develop a number of wrenching knots?

When someone you don't like or have a great deal of conflict with walks into the room and you see that person, what immediately happens inside of you? Do you feel a sense of dread that distracts you from what you are doing? Do you have trouble carrying on a conversation? Do you suddenly feel all your energy drain?

These are very strong reactions. Can you imagine how much cortisol is secreted by the body during this time. For some people these reactions completely disorganize them and takes them away from their potential accomplishments. It is a terrible time stealer because it takes quite awhile to recover from these reactions and get back into a more positive mood. Studies have shown when people watch scary movies their body chemistry changes.

Remember the first time you saw the love of your life? Ah...this sentence can get the heart racing of an entire country.

Think back to your favorite meal and the people you were sitting with during that meal? Was it a holiday? Were you with your family? Can you smell the aromas? Do you feel a sense of calm and warmth with this memory?

These feelings can be powerful. Which ones would you like to have more of? I haven't had any speeding tickets in more than ten years. I used to panic whenever a police car was behind me and would be in agony for miles and miles until it made a turn somewhere. If I see a police car now, I don't sweat it. I know I am not speeding and I am perfectly confident everything is okay.

Work with them or work against them. How do you use your feelings?

Your innate intelligence is always working for you. Does it work better when you are in a positive state? Your innate intelligence doesn't mind negative emotions, but prefers you learn from them so balance is quickly restored.

At your next adjustment make a mental note of your emotional state and how well your subluxations are released. It is amazing how stored emotions and the effects of stress and time are felt in the spine. Ask me what I notice on your spine.

Babies Have the Advantage: Their Mental Energy is Brand New

I'll tell you without a doubt I am so glad I don't have to repeat high school again. How many of you agree with me?

I do envy babies, though. They come into the world with a fresh mind. They have not had a lifetime of negative emotions to absorb.

Because of this, they are so magnificent when they get adjusted! Infants who are labeled with "failure to thrive," respond so quickly to a chiropractic adjustment. While it is of upmost importance to get all children checked for subluxations when they are born because subluxations can damge the body with no outward signs for years, these miraculous stories touch the heart. Look at the case studies in this article:

http://www.chiroweb.com/archives/22/07/01.html

It is a great reminder how we should not interfere with the natural healing process. Babies have no idea what chiropractic is. They don't care that it began in 1895 when a deaf janitor had his hearing restored. They don't care about chiropractors who went to jail for standing up for what they believe in. Babies don't care there are mixed opinions about the proper age to receive your first adjustment.

This also shows how our adult emotions and beliefs profoundly allow us to heal or help us to die.

Chiropractic clears out things you aren't even aware are harming you.

When you are on the table for your next adjustment, become a baby. All babies care about is communicating their need for human contact. They don't weigh the pros and cons and worry about the opinions of others, they just want love.

Be a baby who is free of adult programming so innate intelligence can take care of business.

Babies don't know they need adjusting. They just love the feeling safe, warm, and comfortable.

What else do emotions have to do with your health?

See you at the table...the adjusting table.

What Can You Do With More Energy?

Here is some news from one practice member. She is part of the Ladies Auxiliary Lodge 2367 on Newport Rd., Camillus, NY. She is getting ready for the the spaghetti supper served every 2nd Tuesday, and the chicken and biscuits every 3rd Wednesday. There is also a garage sale coming up September 29th.

Helping the Troops
The biggest job these ladies are doing right now is sending boxes of treats and small items for our troops overseas. The ladies are putting these boxes together themselves. If I understood her correctly, they each do 1-2 boxes a month.

What a go-getter! And she doesn't need any subluxations slowing her down.

Enlighten Your Cells

Have you subscribed yet with the new feed link?

Last week we had great discussions during DNA Adjusting sessions. One member reminded us that cells have memory.

Here is a link from a practitioner in Australia that explains it quite eloquently: Cellular Healing.

With our work on mind-body synchronicity, we can have a positive impact on our health. We can enlighten our cells by delivering a feeling of appreciation deep into our body because we are grateful and delighted to have such an intense innate intelligence taking care of us.

Your chiropractic adjustment gives your body that special "nudge" that allows this positive energy to take off and reach your cells!!

We've mentioned before that there are emotional footprints left behind every subluxation. Chiropractic releases these along with the subluxations during the adjustment.

We will continue to Enlighten our Cells at every DNA Adjusting Session.

Here's another great resource to share with you. I have a link here for an interview with the author of The Genie in Your Genes. No, I didn't interview him, but it is great example of the seemingly subtle but truly not energy processes that are so intricately connected between the mind and body.
...........................................................................................
What does chiropractic have to do with your DNA?

We develop weaknesses in the spine, called subluxations, that negatively change how the nervous system works. We store subluxations in our body because of incomplete or poor healing due to our stressful environment and life-style. Because the nervous system correlates all functions of the body, that includes how well DNA functions and replicates. Chiropractic adjustments release subluxations from the body while chiropractors teach how to assist the body with other healthy behaviors.

Chiropractic research has shown that people who receive regular chiropractic adjustments have better DNA activity demonstrated through serum testing.

What else is in the news
Chiropractic & Diabetes
Chiropractic & Blood Pressure
Chiropractic & Anxiety

Chiropractic is not a treatment for anything, but it is an essential way to promote all that is you, mind & body.

See you at the table...the chiropractic table.

Design Your Life by Choosing Values & Habits

I just finished watching a great Dr. John F. DeMartini seminar on my laptop. Just a week ago I finished a Brian Tracy course. I enjoyed learning some important concepts about values and diligence.

Dr. DeMartini discussed how two people may have similar values yet they arrive at them from very opposite experiences. It some ways this makes their value system completely different. Of course, no one else has the same value system as you do, but with a little understanding and curiosity, two people can come together and appreciate what each other has to offer. This is how all relationships work whether they are personal or business.

Many people have values that fluctuate because they are not stand rock solid with their own values. If they take on other people's values, that they may not be living authentically.

What do you value in your own life? How do they keep you moving forward? Here is a list of values congruent with success.

Common Personal Values:
Accomplishment, Success
Accountability
Accuracy
Adventure
All for one & one for all
Beauty
Calm, quietude, peace
Challenge
Change
Cleanliness, orderliness
Collaboration
Commitment
Communication
Community
Competence
Competition
Concern for others
Content over form
Continuous improvement
Cooperation
Coordination
Country, love of (patriotism)
Creativity
Customer satisfaction
Decisiveness
Delight of being, joy
Democracy
Discipline
Discovery
Ease of Use
Efficiency
Equality
Excellence
Fairness
Faith
Family
Family feeling
Flair
Freedom
Friendship

Good will
Goodness
Gratitude
Hard work
Harmony
Honesty
Honor
Independence
Inner peace, calm, quietude
Innovation
Integrity
Justice
Knowledge
Leadership
Love, Romance
Loyalty
Maximum utilization (of time, resources)
Meaning
Merit
Money
Openness
Peace, Non-violence
Perfection (e.g. of details)
Personal Growth
Pleasure
Positive attitude
Power
Practicality
Preservation
Privacy
Problem Solving
Progress
Prosperity, Wealth
Punctuality
Quality of work
Regularity Resourcefulness
Respect for others
Responsiveness
Results-oriented
Rule of Law
Safety
Satisfying others
Security
Self-givingness

Stability
Standardization
Status
StrengthSucceed; A will to-Success, Achievement
Systemization
Teamwork
Timeliness
Tolerance
Tradition
Tranquility
Trust
Truth
Unity
Variety
Wisdom

So, values move people to act in a certain way. Brian Tracy provides a handy way to let your values influence your productivity. His course concentrated on how to have success at selling yourself for financial gain, but it can be applied to any type of interaction to achieve a goal. He discussed certain consistent habits that allow you to meet goals. They are thought habits and action habits. He had a realistic and foundational "how to" plan anyone can put into practice.

These are great lessons to help us push out the unenthusiastic beliefs that tend to take up residence in our psyches. We can replace our old thought patterns and values. It just takes little reminders so they become the empowering fuel in our nervous systems.

Stress: What the Mind Possesses the Body Expresses

I found this article online and love the title!!! Enjoy!

........................................................................................

Stress: What the Mind Possesses the Body Expresses

Stress is the underlying cause of 85% of visits to the doctor and includes Fibromyalgia, Headaches, and other Chronic Pain syndromes. If this is so and the research shows it to be true then why do we not recognize these stressors? How is it that we let stress create such problems in our lives? These questions are being studied more than ever before as is noted in the latest issues of Time, News Week, US News and World Report, National Geographic and a host of other weekly and monthly magazines including O, The Oprah Magazine.

If we understand that the underlying cause of stress is a mind body connection response to our thoughts and our bodies response to those thoughts then it makes since. Florence Nightingale, in her book Notes on Nursing written in 1859 stated that volumes are now written on the connection of the mind and the body. Even then she declared that if we help the patents to vary their thoughts we help them get better.

So why is the Medical Community so slow in connecting the two. Good Question and not so hard when you think of our fast paced world and how easy and routine it is for a physician to write a prescription to calm our nerves.

As humans we experience daily stress totally different than say a rabbit in the wild. A rabbit while leisurely feeding will respond with all its senses with any sign of danger. However, unlike humans the rabbit will relax and go on feeding as soon as the signs of danger pass. It has no thoughts of what just occurred, or what might occur or what could have occurred.
When humans sense danger we also go on the alert. Our heart rate faster, our blood pressure higher, our blood diverted to our arms and legs so that we can fight or get the heck out of Dodge. On the other hand, we humans unlike the rabbit tend to proceed to worry about the “What Ifs.” What if the danger comes back? What if it isn’t gone and I just I think it is gone?

When the “What Ifs” set in we are beyond the protecting intentions of the stress response and become distressed. We take a thought and turn it into worry, which creates high blood pressure, fast pulse, etc.

Read the following and then try the exercise: Close your eyes take a deep breathe and pretend or imagine that you are in your kitchen. Look around the kitchen and listen for the hum of the refrigerator. Walk over to the refrigerator. Did you hear your footsteps? Now open the door of the refrigerator? Feel the cool air as it flows out.

You notice a bright yellow lemon and you reach in and take it out. Pay attention to the size, color, temperature, and texture of the lemon as you hold it in your hand.

Now take the lemon over to where you would normally cut up fruits or vegetables. Take out your favorite knife and slice through the lemon. Watch the lemon juice as it oozes out onto the cutting area. Now pick up one half of the lemon and smell the scent of the lemon.

Now open your mouth and take a bite of the lemon. Taste the lemon juice as it passes across your teeth onto your tongue. Taste the tangy tart taste of the lemon as you feel it in your jaw. Go ahead and notice and then swallow the extra saliva in your mouth.

If you are like most who try this exercise then you may have noticed a little sour taste with some discomfort in your jaw and/or extra saliva in your mouth. What you created with just your thought was a physiological, biochemical response in your body – yes, just from a though – So the old saying “We are what we think we are is true.” Therefore, change your negative thoughts to positive thoughts and experience the changes in you.

How do I know if I am stressed?

If you are finger tapping, compulsively eating, biting your nails, having repetitive thoughts you might be stressed. If you have increased your smoking, drinking or drug use you might be stressed. If you are absent or being late for work then you might be stressed.

Prolonged stress can result in heart disease, food cravings, insomnia, depression, PMS, obesity arthritis, diabetes, and multiple other conditions that are a direct result of uncontrolled stress.

The most stressful jobs:
1. Teaching
2. Nursing
3. Management
4. Other professionals
5. Social workers
6. Road transport
7. Police and prison officers

On an average workday, an estimated one million workers do not make it to work due to stress. “Health and Executive Magazine,” claims 6.5 million sick days are being taken every year as a result of stress.

Stress Reduction

Stress affects blood pressure, sleep habits, nervousness, and confusion. Whenever our bodies are stressed – whether the stress is real or imagined – our brains respond as if it is real. Stress, by the way, can come in many forms: an impending deadline, an inability to complete work tasks, or even a verbal lashing from another person. The body’s response is the same regardless of what causes the stress.

Ten Ways to Cut Down on Stress
1. Talk it out. Get support from family and friends.
2. Exercise regularly.
3. Avoid false guilt.
4. Set realistic goals and priorities.
5. Avoid perfectionism.
6. Keep a sense of humor.
7. Hang loose. Set aside idle time to relax every day.
8. Live by the calendar, not the stopwatch.
9. Avoid over indulging in drugs, alcohol, caffeine, and nicotine.
10. Think positively

Taking time out of a busy schedule to relax is very important. Everyone experiences relaxation differently so the key is to relax as best you can. The ability to relax is enhanced by finding a quiet place, creating positive self talk, listening to soft music, day dreaming, or taking a walk.

Try this simple breathing technique to relax and decrease stress. Blow your stomach out like blowing up a balloon. This will drop the diaphragm down and automatically create a deep breath. More oxygen is able to enter into the two lower lobes of the lungs, which has more blood vessels to carry oxygen to the cells.

Exercise

Exercise is the most widely recommended form of treatment for relieving the effects of stress and depression. It increases endorphin release (the bodies natural morphine) along with melatonin (natural sleeping pill) and serotonin (natural Prozac) production, and helps level out blood glucose. Exercise helps us sleep better which also decreases stress.

Think Stress Control

Skipping breakfast is a bad idea.

Starting your day on an empty stomach results in DECREASED ATTENTION and POOR PERFORMANCE. Even if your breakfast consists of something sweet or fatty, which is common, it can still help you get a better start on your workday. It is also true that breakfast eaters are leaner, have lower blood pressure, eat less throughout the day, and are in better health than those who skip the most important meal of the day.

In Conclusion

Stress responds well to meditation, Relaxation Therapy, Self-Hypnosis Exercise, a walk in nature, soft music, get 6-8 hours of sleep and a proper diet with the right vitamin and mineral supplements greatly decreases stress and enhance wellness.

Life Is Like Miniature Golf

I took my six year old niece to play miniature golf yesterday which is a lot of fun for her. She and I go by ourselves so she can have girl time away from my son who is 3 1/2 and drives her crazy with his "boy-antics."

I knew it would be a quick game. We don't even keep score because we break all the rules of taking turns and moving the ball ahead just to make it easier. I remember playing with my friends as a teenager and we were terribly competitive watching each other like hawks to make sure we were all being honest. Can you picture it?

Playing with my niece, we took a lot of short cuts. I soon realized if you play with the wrong person, you are in for a miserable time. If someone likes to keep score and see how much he has improved over time, it will seem boring for someone who likes to volley the ball for simple entertainment. Tiger Woods would never play with someone just looking for a ride on the golf cart and some alcoholic beverage consumption. To him it is not a past time, it is always a time of concentration and self improvement doing something he is truly passionate about.

Eighteen holes of miniature golf provides a variety of challenges, much like life. Some force us to stretch out of the comfort zone while others are very simple and straightforward. Thank goodness for variety. We should always have some easy days thrown in every now and then. Luckily for us there is great scenery to look at along the way from cute little windmills and school houses to clowns and waterfalls.

Sometimes the ball doesn't get far and we have to practice for a while. Practicing is the art of honest self evaluation making changes until we find what works for us. My niece likes to call just about every turn she takes a hole in one. She is only six years old and its fine for her, but many of us have moments in which we refuse to accept the truth. From the Advanced Chiropractic perspective, continual practice allows us to interrupt the negative, less healthy patterns and establish new ones in our minds and bodies.

So, whatever your purpose is when you start your game of mini-golf, be clear about it and make sure the players you have chosen to join you have the same idea. And don't forget to go for ice cream afterwards. That's the part that makes you want to do it all over again.

Hiking Lesson

Wake Up & Create the Life You Want, by Debra Moorehead

..........................................................................................................................
Hiking Lesson
I took Eirne and his cousin, Lydia, to Taughannock Falls State Park to go hiking with my sister and his 2 other cousins. It was a fun day, but I it was real work walking a trail that was barely on an incline. As I walked, I thought back to a time when I ran every other day and made exercise a major activity in my life. This hike would have been boring to me!

It has been said, "Use it or lose it!" I realize now what I am missing. It's easy to go by the wayside when family and other responsibilities are an immediate priority. But it doesn't have to be pushed all the way back to that last burner.

During the hike, the four cousins handled their trek differently. Although they were different ages, the city kids were no match for the country kids' energy levels. Physical activity must start in childhood so healthy habits become unshakable habits, so when they become responsible adults (like us...) they realize the value of these habits.

I realize it now. I want the old "fitness" me back. It's going to take motivational work. If I say it is going to take work, I've lost the battle already. No one likes work. If it is perceived as a motivational way to challenge yourself, it can be successful.

The biggest gain is the new excitement and pride you have in yourself, regardless of the challenge. If it is the Numbers Don't Lie Diet, improving your relationships, getting fitter, or finding the career you adore, the best reward is the power and control you feel over your life.

We all wish for power and control over our lives. It is the greatest gift we have that also allows us to give back because we can do wonderful things with our personal power and control.

There are immediate priorities and then the regular priorities and then the other things. How you divide your time demonstrates how you respect your own power and control. Decide how you want to take care of your priorities and feel the power and control it creates.

Homic Advanced Chiropractic will help you with this daily challenge. Coming soon, the DNA adjustment will be incorporated into your chiropractic care. DNA stands for Dynamic Neuro-adaptive Adjustment. Since advanced chiropractic is all about advancing your life, it's time for an adjustment program that reinforces the whole philosophy behind mind-mobility and the chiropractic life-style. Don't Break A Habit...Reestablish It

So, you want to change something about you. You want to make improvements. Break a bad habit. Why do we have to be so negative? Bad habit. Break it. Breaking it sounds so seriously pessimistic.

The more we think about breaking it, the more difficult it becomes because so much energy is spent on anger and disgust. What if we treated the undesirable habit like an old friend we've drifted away from? It's time to let you go old friend. Part ways because we have grown apart. When you recognize the need to change, you are growing.

It can be tricky. There's no denying that so it's a good time to look for lots of support. There is a Stuart Lichtman audio I recently listened to online that touches on this topic. He noted there are three parts of the brain that are "rooted" in instinctual patterns while one part of the brain is open to new things. He called it "3 against 1" and this is why it is difficult to instill new habits. You can listen to it here. He talks about ways to get all parts of the brain to team up and go for the healthier, desired new pattern.

If you've ever said good-bye to an old friend, you probably thought it over very carefully and made the decision to let go telling yourself you can get beyond it without feeling bad. Say good-bye to the old and hello to the newLetting go of a habit allows the opportunity to establish a new an improved pattern to take its place.

We can enlist the help of the spine since limbic system cells are at every level of the spinal cord. By keeping the spine in balance, a greater sense of well being is achieved so the new habits take a strong hold in your life.

Science, Spirit, & Freedom

Happy Independence Day to my readers and practice members.

Today is a quiet time to reflect on the freedoms we have achieved as a country and as individuals always committed to reinforcing the benefits of wellness. Our freedoms do not last if we close our eyes to them. B.J. Palmer spoke about the art, science, and philosophy of chiropractic and to not take it for granted. "Guard it well," he warned which is important advice when it comes to life and opportunity. It is the perfect day to rearrange the Create Purpose website and make sure this message is reinforced before every adjustment I deliver.

I spent most of the day redoing the website. I wanted to make it more inspirational and less cluttered. I tend to add to it until it is too full of information.

I did find a good quote from one of my favorite books to add to the website:

"I have come to believe that science, at its very core, is a spiritual endeavor."

Candice Pert, PhD from Molecules of Emotion.

If you have read the book or understand where Dr. Pert is coming from, share your insights in the comments.

See you at the table...the adjusting table.

How Much Limitation is Acceptable to You?

Wellness is a mind-set that moves you to make certain choices.
.................................................................................................

I hope you say you don't accept any limitations. Why would you ever expect less? It just means you don't really value you. This chips away at self respect.

I used to say, "I have low expectations so I can be pleasantly surprised when things turn out well." This is suppose to be some kind of twisted positive thinking. If you have a similar dialougue like I used to have, dump it right now!

Does anyone make a plan B just in case things go incredibly well?

My grandmother used to say she'd take an aspirin tonight just in case she had a headache tomorrow. Runs in the family, huh?

Chiropractic gives us a great reason to be excited. We have a great inborn healing system that already knows what to do to take care of us. It works all the time. Chiropractic promotes this inborn healing system so we can be confident in how the body works.

When did your mother tell you to settle for less? We may have done it at least once in our lives, but now we know better.

Give your body what it needs. Give it chiropractic.

Would You Like A Cup of "Potential Tea?"

Chiropractic is not a procedure; it is a process of living an extraordinary life!
.......................................................................................................

So, what is potential tea?

It is a mnemonic I use to remind us how to make the most of your chiropractic adjustment. You can use this in all parts of your life

T....thoughts
E....emotions
A....adjustment, and your action

T - Thoughts. Everything starts with a thought, why did you decide to do anything today?

E - Emotion. The emotion you place behind your thought determines your comitment. Often we go through our day in a daze. It's all routine, and a rut.

A - Adjustment. The adjustment is the first part of the action process. We re-energize your nervous system, then you go out into world and take the actions you choose to help you reach your goals.

..........................................................
So today was a beautiful Saturday. I had a long list of "to do's" today. I didn't start a single one until about 4 PM. Instead I was strangely motivated to take down all the curtains and wash them. I put up some blinds in the kitchen so more light would shine in during the mornings. I gave the house a mini makeover. It really changes your outlook. I feel relaxed and more energized. I did cross off some of my to do items by 9 PM. Now I can cross "newsletter" off today's list. Always leave some "wriggle room" in your to do list so you don't panic when you get off track for a bit.
I'm considering starting the painting on the office walls. But.....we'll see. It's not on my to do list---yet.

Advancing Human Potential Mind & Body: How to Get More Mileage

Chiropractic is more than a procedure; it is a desire to live an extraordinary life!
..............................................................................................................................................

Practice members usually come to me with a problem. Something has disrupted their lives and they want to put an end to it as fast as they can. Sometimes their impatience is a problem. It prevents us from having a learning experience or breakthrough.

I like us to shift our outlook from a negative burden to a positive, empowering strength. Sometimes that takes time.

When someone needs to do a lot of healing, it can seem as if their adjustments do not hold very well. This is similar to tuning a piano. A piano that is severely out of tune will quickly loosen and the piano tuner has to retune the strings frequently until the string is able to hold the tension for its particular note.

Because we are living beings we can always get into better tune. Getting adjusted certainly helps the healing process when you are significantly out of balance, but getting adjusted when you are doing quite well is even more fulfilling. Why? Because the body is not in a stressful state and it actually has a greater opportunity to thrive.

It is just like driving on properly inflated tires. You will get more mileage. When you are getting adjusted the body's responses are much quicker and more intense or more profound. I can never get away from the DNA study of 2005. It has me so excited. Check it out again!

Attract Wellness with Chiropractic

Chiropractic is more than a procedure; It is a desire to live an extraordinary life.
.....................................................
Attract Wellness with Chiropractic

The law of attr-action is a new way to focus on your wellness care with chiropractic.

A. = Ask - What kind of wellness do you want to experience?
T. = Trust - Results are elusive unless you trust your body can heal.
T. = Transmutate - transform emotional/vibrational energy into physical outcomes.
R. = Receive - expect health, be ready to accept it and do more with your life.
ACTION = Actions that match your desire, replace contradictions with congruent behaviors.

At your visits you will learn how to incorporate these 5 steps into your care. I will discuss the importance of each and how your concentration on these topics will enhance each adjustment you receive. If we get as specific as possible, you will discover a need to redefine your own terms of extraordinary living.

This is a very short introduction. I will give you more details during your visit. Be excited about it. You and your innate intelligence can do great things!!!

See you at the table...the adjusting table.

Is Chiropractic Cocaine?

Chiropractic Mind & Body:
Chiropractic is more than a procedure; It is a desire to live an extraordinary life.

Is Chiropractic Cocaine?

One of the largest industries in America is the marketing and selling of cocaine. It brings in billions of dollars, but I can't give you a real statistic because it is, of course, an illegal activity and we just don't know. I won't go into much more detail about cocaine other than it is an economic phenomenon among other things...

It is in great demand because of what it does to the nervous system. It creates an intense elation. Here is a tidbit in which a researcher compares romantic love to cocaine use...
http://www.cnn.com/2007/HEALTH/02/14/love.science/index.html

Of course there is a dangerous downside to cocaine so I would prefer to find more realistic ways to keep the nervous system healthy and happy. That is what chiropractic provides. There are studies showing a connection between subluxations and addictions. http://www.torquerelease.com/art9.htm

The great benefit everyone derives from chiropractic is the continued feeling of well being when and adjustment frees up the tension on the brain and spinal cord. It can do the same thing as cocaine, stimulate the parts of the brain that elicits good feelings. However chiropractic helps bring more balance to the body and does not overpower it like an artificial substance.

I want chiropractic to be the "positive cocaine." And I must return to the DNA study that shows regular chiropractic care allows for more resilient DNA. You can't get any more focal into the minute aspects of the function of the cell. That's the effect of chiropractic.
