Be More Alive Step 1: Live, Love, Heal

This is a photo of Louise Hay and Joe Vitale. More on them in just a moment...

Becoming a chiropractor for me had nothing to do with back pain.

I worked for the South Carolina Department of Mental Health and saw how people let mental pain wreck their bodies physically. For some odd reason, they were unable to take care of their bodies which caused them more emotional anguish. When they talked about physical pain, their psychiatrist told them to go to their regular physicians who really didn't know how to help them. I saw chiropractic as the untapped resource needed to really kill two birds with one stone. The mind and body are uniquely linked and chiropractic doesn't ignore one over the other.

How you live, love, and heal is affected by the innate functioning of the nervous system. Learning how to tap into this personal power so the mind and body thrive together is the most important step to vibrant living.

I require an understanding of this when anyone starts chiropractic care. It's also important to reaffirm your dedication to your life by evaluating your basic attitudes especially how you perceive what you are getting out of living, loving, and healing.

It has to do with making good use of the energy of confidence.
It starts in your spine and spreads to your mind.

If you are familiar with Louise Hay, check out this article of her visit with Joe Vitale. It's a great story. They talk about anger and resentment being a contributor to disease. Louise Hay had cancer and realized she needed to understand her parents rather than resent them.

Labor Day: A Time to Honor Your Vocational Passions

Dear Practice Members:

As I near the 13th anniversary of my decision to become a chiropractor (Labor Day weekend, ironically), I have been reflecting on the many people who have enriched my path such as my teachers and practice members.

I’ve listened to people tell me what they think is chiropractic. I’ve talked to people about the potential of a chiropractic adjustment, but it can’t be conveyed in words. It has to be experienced.

I’ve talked to people who wouldn’t give chiropractic a 2nd thought and still I adjust people who have been with my practice since the early days of my portable table in my truck.

Regardless of where you are on your wellness journey, I ask you to reflect on an awesome thought:

Imagine what the world will be like when every man, woman, and child is getting adjusted…without limits or hesitation because of age, occupation, insurance rules, unfounded fears or prejudice.

It is all because the adjustment lets the real you shine through.

I invite you to let your physical-ness and passions awaken and flourish.

Everyone.

You get to choose.

M.D. Aging Expert Says Subluxations of Childhood Cause Aging Diseases

Osteoporosis is a childhood disease according the Dr. Robert Butler.
He also adds that a Toxic Food Environment is also dangerous as he talks about processed and fast foods. He doesn't know it, but he is talking about subluxations.

B.J. Palmer, D.C. Ph.C., the developer of chiropractic, said Subluxations are symptoms of interference to innate intelligence. We all know toxins, trauma, and unbalanced emotions cause subluxations. Subluxations take hold when we are very young and reprogram the body in such as way that rebounding from stress becomes difficult impairing the healing process. Be aware how profound knowledge of chiropractic vitalism has on your health, quality of life, and outlook.

Remember, you can learn more about advanced chiropractic through the Chiropractive Curriculum.

As a phsyician, Dr. Butler feels 12 minutes a visit is not enough time to work with a patient and the health care delivery system is a huge problem in promoting quality of life. There must be a change. I agree with him and implore everyone to always take an interest in self education on all kinds of health matters.

Watch this short video for a sneak peek at Dr. Butler's talk.

Dr. Robert Butler is a psychiatrist and gerontologist who recognized in the 1960's that the elderly were discriminated against and has been dedicated to social health policy and education as aging impacts all of society.

It matters to all of us.

Chiropractic Works Because Something is Right, Not Wrong

I am valuable and everything I do reflects on how much I value myself.

Be excited. The human body partners up with its innate intelligence to allow you to be the best person you can be.

The best part is chiropractic enhances what is already great. Too many people today are down on themselves for various reasons which aggravates their health.

Do you look at life as getting better or getting worse?

I make it a point to teach people how to get reacquainted with their bodies. We know folks who have never been adjusted and they have so many imbalances in their lives. It is very evident in the way they hold themselves up, treat themselves, and make decisions.

This is the aspect of wellness that is not as popular. Wellness is not nutrition, and exercise, and yoga. Wellness is mind-set that says, "I am valuable and everything I do reflects on how much I value myself."

People who do not get adjusted regularly, but finally decide to try it have an important job of working around the permanent damage that may have taken hold due to long term subluxations. It can be a long process. I've seen people get adjusted for over one or two years before they finally felt "comfortable" in their bodies. It is worth working for because being comfortable means you have more confidence. I want everyone to be confident in their innate intelligence which fuels their personal power.

Remember,
You get to choose.

See you at the table...the adjusting table.

Your Body Speaks When Your Mind is in Denial

I have said this often, especially in the Be More Alive Handbook:
Your body speaks when your mind is in denial.

Are you trying to free the body? You need to free the mind first.
Also, if you are trying the free the mind, you should work on freeing the body, too.
After many centuries of the mind and body being considered separately, we can finally feel whole. History has an important lesson to teach us on mind-body dualism.

People can have very persistent physical problems because they do not acknowledge a feeling or belief that has been slowing smoldering. We are not split personalities. We can think we are organized or in control of our thoughts but they spill over into our bodies.

It is all about imbalance. When we are over-focused on something we naturally ignore something else. Getting back into balance is the key.

Please read this amzing personal story how one thought cleared up someone's decade of chronic pain and fibromyalgia. I'm sure it will reach others in a very profound way.

Free up your thoughts by freeing up your subluxations.

Remember,
you get to choose.

See you at the table...the adjusting table.

Serotonin Syndrome: How Can You Get Too Much?

Here is an article about Serotonin Syndrome. Is this a case of too much of a good thing? It can easily be misdiagnosed as fibromyalgia or a similar type of chronic fatigue. Some symtoms of serotonin syndrome include mental status changes, behavioral changes, hyperactive nerves and muscles, pain and dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system.
