Traitors Within!! (Avoid the Ugliness-We've Got Healing to Do)

Call to Action:  Don't deny yourself life affirming habits.  Don't be swayed by outdated information.  You know the truth.

Something very demoralizing has been brewing lately.  Different professional organizations are trying to deter you from pursuing natural healing modalities during this covid crisis.

Here is an example from the Dietitians of Canada:

Can I boost my immune system through my diet?

"Simply put, you cannot “boost” your immune system through diet and no specific food, supplement or natural health product will prevent you from catching COVID-19. Proper hygiene can help reduce the risk of infection or spreading infection to others.

To date, the Government of Canada has not approved any product to prevent, treat or cure COVID-19. Selling unauthorized health products or making false or misleading claims to prevent, treat or cure COVID-19 is illegal in Canada. More information can be found here."

We know dietary induced inflammation puts a huge strain on the immune system.  I suspect they think people want a magic bullet, and don't want to encourage a supposed quick fix.  You and I know that  health is a product of years of beneficial habits.

Why don't dietitians want to lead their clients to better health???  What's that all about?  Boggles my mind.  What are their goals at all?  Very disappointing.

Possibly they don't want to give someone the wrong idea.  They take this all or nothing approach and shut down any thought of self care.  I find this problematic.  I also find this condescending

Certain chiropractors are discouraging, too.

In the chiropractic arena the Florida Chiropractic Society felt the need to respond to the World Federation of Chiropractic.  While the WFC is telling the public there is no scientific proof that chiropractic care improves the immune system, the FLC countered with an explanation that focuses on the positive (and studied) physiologic affects of a balanced nervous system which is a huge influence on the immune system.

The WFC wants science  to prove a certain treatment gets the same results on everybody.  (If that was the case, we never would have had any kind of sickness ever in the history of the world.) This is a very simplistic outlook.

This means they want to see the same response in every person, and probably in a short term setting.  We know everyone has his or her own health drawbacks, preexisting conditions, etc.  And we realize there is a rush to complete scientific studies, so we can't glean "perfect" findings.

We know chiropractic plays a very beneficial role in long term health, but so much more is up to the individuals in their day to day routines.

Why do I say we have traitors within?

There is obvious disagreement between the two groups.  The WFC sounds like it wants to cut off its own nose!  Why would a chiropractor deter people from seeking chiropractic care?

That just burns me up!!!

The best way to convey chiropractic is with a one to one relationship with a chiropractor who listens to your concerns and takes the time to explain how to enhance your own healing power.

So, I hate to bring up this ugly mess. As long as you're aware of it, you can turn to the chiropractors and nutritionists who are encouraging.  They will help you discover your own wellness within.

Ultimately your future health is up to you.  But I don't want you to be confused by these disagreements.

Be very careful when you hear certain public health announcements.   Strangers do not want to help you.  But I do.

See you at the table....
